 UP TO ESTABLISH ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING POLICE STATIONS

 

  • Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to establish anti-human trafficking Police Stations in each and every district in a major step towards the security of women and

 

  • These Police Stations will be given enough powers to register the case and investigate the matter

 

  • The state government is going to establish 40 new anti-

trafficking units which will work like police stations in districts and will conduct the investigation after registering the cases.

 

  • Earlier, only 35 districts in the state had Police stations of anti-human trafficking unit

which was established in 2011 and 2018.

 TIRUPPUR GIRL WINS INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR SHORT FILM

 

  • Tiruppur-based girl K Mahashweta has won recognition at the Las Vegas Movie Awards 2020 for her role in a short film. In the film, she plays an orphaned child who helps senior citizens who are abandoned at old age homes.

 

  • Ten-year-old K Mahashweta, a Class V student from Tiruppur, has acted in four Malayalam short films and has already won two international awards for her acting skills.

 

  • The latest one is the Best Child/Young Actress award for her role in the short film “Grandma Toy” at the Las Vegas Movie Awards

 

  • The short film is based on the theme that “Why do people leave their parents at such places instead of caring for them at their homes?” The short film fetched Mahashweta the award in the category Five to 12 years that had contestants from 100 countries.

 

    KERALA: 1ST STATE TO FIX FLOOR PRICE FOR VEGETABLES     

 

  • Kerala becomes the first state in the country to fix the floor price for vegetables. The floor price will be 20 per cent above the production cost of the vegetable.

 

  • Even if the market price goes below the floor price, the product will be procured at the floor price from the farmers. This is the first time in the country that the floor price is being fixed for vegetables produced in the

 

  • This is going to provide relief as well as support for the farmers. The produce will be graded and the floor price will be fixed based on the

 

  • Sixteen varieties of vegetables would be covered in the first phase and there is a provision to revise the floor price on a regular basis. Farmers can register on the agriculture department’s registration portal after insuring the crop to get the benefit of the floor

 

  • The scheme also envisages setting up the entire supply chain process like cold storage facilities and refrigerated vehicles for transporting the

  • Every year, October 27 is celebrated as Infantry Day by the Indian Army in Jammu & Kashmir (known by the nickname, Chinar Corps).

 

  • The Chinar Corps celebrated the 74th Infantry Day on October 27, 2020, to honor the supreme sacrifice of the

gallant soldiers in fighting the Pakistani invaders, in Jammu and Kashmir, in 1947.
